BERTOLT BRECHT Bertolt Brecht was born in Ausburg, Germany on the 19th February, 1898. He accompany the University of Munich studying medicine and philosophy and then went on to be a medical orderly in a German military hospital during the First World War. Whilst serving as an army doctor, Brecht developed an anti-warfare sen timent and was angered by the vogue in which war negatively changed society.
